London, England, United Kingdom
After 20+ years as a Management Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers working in government sector transformation change, I want to help build a much safer, regenerative, lower carbon and honest world. A world where human connection and experiences are valued more than consumption and materialism, and where our species can live in a regenerative way with >all< other life on this planet. I am the Strategic Adaptation For Emergency Resilience (SAFER) Campaign Manager at the Climate Majority Project, which is a proud member of The Climate Change Coalition. I am part of the London Doughnut Economy Coalition which promotes the adoption of Doughnut Economics across London. I am also strategic advisor to Media Revolution, which is implementing an umbrella strategy to tackle the UK’s billionaire owned media and their damaging agenda. I am also 100% plant based. In 2018 I was shocked by the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C and continue to be shocked by the enormous gap between the level of response needed and that being taken to adapt to the changes already embedded in this planet’s life support systems, reduce carbon emissions and preserve nature. What drives me in my ambition to work in this space are: - My love for this planet and all life on it - My understanding of the true extent and enormity of the crisis we face and the mindful and timely change required at all levels of society required to fight against it. - My desire to help us move to a radically changed, regenerative, ‘custodian’ culture and mindset that is radically inclusive, honest and fair - My need to gain more clarity on what the transition from our current carbon based society to a renewable / sustainable / circular society looks like, and - My sincere hope that our species can change quickly enough to transition peacefully to a new and improved regenerative society where my, and all children, and all life, will flourish.
The #SAFER campaign is all about promoting hyper local community based adaptation to the climate change that is already upon us, and through this, triggering a massive, national, popular, action orientated response to the climate crisis. Specifically SAFER is about being more prepared for more intense heat, more regular flooding, more fires, increased energy outages, food and water supply risks, and being much more prepared for climate related emergency events in general. And all to be done in a way that promotes reducing our green house gas emissions and regenerating nature at an accelerated pace and scale.
