10 week Summer Internship - Secured Credit Risk team 1) Pricing Project • Worked on a pricing project which looked at the impact of pricing policies on the volume and quality of business attracted to the bank • Used SAS/SQL coding – including complex data steps, do loops and macros 2) Shadowing • Shadowed Lead Analysts across various Risk teams – including Secured Collections, SME Underwriting and Unsecured Credit Risk • Enhanced banking knowledge and understanding of the financial sector
Here, I became familiar with what Investment Banking was all about and the different skills that are required in order to be successful in this financial department. I learned about the alternative ways in which an Investment Banker has to think and analyse situations depending on various factors, and how there is a need to observe the wider picture.
