During my six months as a Starbucks barista in the city centre, I developed strong skills for working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. I learned to multitask efficiently, from taking orders and making drinks to handling cash. I became confident in delivering friendly, personalised customer service, and I strengthened my communication and teamwork skills by working closely with a diverse team to keep everything running smoothly.
During my time working at a popular children’s nursery in Brighton, I built a strong and practical skill set for caring for young children. I was responsible for supervising and engaging children, supporting their learning and play, serving meals, and keeping the environment clean and safe. The role improved my organisation and time-management skills and helped me learn how to connect with children in a positive, supportive way. I also developed patience, adaptability, and clear communication with both children and parents. Working closely with the team taught me how to collaborate effectively and contribute to a nurturing atmosphere.

After starting as an Assistant Coach, I worked hard, showed initiative, and progressed to Coach, independently training groups of 15–20 children aged 8–11. This role helped me develop strong leadership and facilitation skills.
