I am seeking an entry-level position with a company or governmental organization that conducts economic research or statistical analysis, in which I will be able to apply my advanced background in economics and statistics towards the issues they face. I believe that my strong educational background and my wide-ranging skill-set with statistical programs makes me an asset for any potential employer.
Assists the Risk and Safety Teams at Hampton Roads Transit to analyze company data to find underlying risk and safety concerns to create more proactive policies for transit operation and maintenance procedures.
Assisted in creating and distributing high-level research surveys for the E.V Williams Center for Real Estate at Old Dominion University. The surveys reached out to experts across the country asking for their current sentiments and future forecasts for various real estate markets in their respective regions. I collected, analyzed, and presented the survey responses using both Microsoft Excel and Tableau. I also assisted professors in some of their research by performing statistical analysis using a variety of software packages.
Participated in scoring projects for both NAEP and MCAS, which consisted of team training on exam questions and scoring student responses with the intent of measuring reading comprehension and writing ability. The exam questions and student responses remain confidential.
Assisted in statistical and literary research on topics and information relevant to Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). Work included updating and compiling data sets from international databases (UNCTAD, World Bank, etc.) and performing statistical analysis to determine trends and characteristics, as well as creating metadata sheets defining important development indicators. I also wrote literature reviews on issues concerning LLDCs and compiled and revised reports from important development meetings between LLDCs.
Worked as an assistant to a professor for two semesters. Duties included generating midterms/finals and grading exams and term papers.
