About

Set to graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Ondokuz Mayıs University in June 2024, I have developed strong technical expertise in veterinary microbiology and pathology through my internship at the university’s Animal Hospital, specifically in the Department of Microbiology. During this time, I am actively doing my PhD in Microbiology field in Ondokuz Mayıs University. Also currently working in Vitrosens Biyoteknoloji A.Ş. as a veterinarian. Throughout my academic journey, I actively contributed as a research assistant in vaccine development and participated in projects focused on drug-resistant pathogens and whole-genome sequencing for diagnosing fish diseases. Most recently, my research has concentrated on the immunohistochemical expression and tissue distribution of two key genes in canine mammary tumors. In addition to my academic pursuits, I was honored to be selected by WWF-Turkey as a volunteer veterinarian in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation during forest fires. Beyond my veterinary career, I am also a certified two-star diver, which reflects my passion for exploring and understanding the natural world.

Maintained veterinary in vitro diagnostic dossiers in Türkiye by managing change control, variation submissions, and regulatory documentation updates in line with national and international requirements. Preparation and submission of technical documents in alignment with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and applicable CLSI and ISO requirements. Supported GMP inspections (SGS and TGA) by compiling regulatory documentation, responding to auditor questions, and ensuring evidence alignment with quality and regulatory requirements. Coordination with R&D, Production, and Quality Departments during the preparation, submission, and follow-up activities of the dossiers. Liaised with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and other regulatory contacts in the case of necessity Controling documents for RA deliverables, ensuring dosier versions, traceability, and timely updates of submission components, templates, and records under SOPs. Labeling and controling artwork by reviewing the label content, and maintaining label text if applicable. Reviewing product communication and promotional materials for the purpose of regulatory compliance and alignment with approved document approvals and rationale per SOP. Maintenance of structured regulatory files and trackers (product lifecycle status, variations, authority correspondence, commitments) to support the current compliance. Drafting and updating documents regarding protocol validation summaries, led risk management activities with ISO 14971 in alignment of scientific basis as well as ensuring consistency Handled BSL 2 biosafety procedures for zoonotic and opportunistic pathogens developing and validating veterinary diagnostic assays including analytical sensitivity and specificity, reproducibility, and lot to lot performance studies. Performing of molecular and protein based analyses such as PCR, qPCR, SDS PAGE, Western blot for assay target confirmation and antigen characterization.

Generated inactivated whole cell antigens and utilized adjuvanted immunization method to produce anti- L. petauri sera in rainbow trout; confirmed immune response via dot blot assay for finding antigen - antibody interactions and the existence of antibodies in rainbow trout sera. Evaluated SDS-PAGE and Western blots to characterize the antigenic profile of each isolate and selected candidate isolates based on banding patterns and host immunoreactivity. Interpreted the whole genome sequencing data to inform strain selection. Obtained blood samples from anesthetized fish and processed the collected serum for immunological tests.

Diagnostic pathology/microbiology rotation focused on performing infectious disease work ups in companion animals. Assisted in the evaluation and/or treatment of clinical cases as well as the examination of post mortem samples through bacteriological and molecular testing; evaluated clinical and post-mortem samples using culture-based screening techniques, DNA/RNA extraction, and PCR. Assisted with necropsy sampling and histopathology workflow, including tissue processing, H&E staining, and immunohistochemistry for antigen detection under supervision. Conducted microscopic examinations using standard staining methods (e.g., Gram, Giemsa, acid-fast), and documented all results with complete sample identification and bio-safety compliance.
