Overseeing the maintenance and redistribution of bikes across Brighton & Hove as part of the BTNBikeShare.
A volunteer-run community cycle workshop providing a supportive environment where anyone can fix their own bike using our tools and equipment with access to affordable new and used parts. Our team of volunteers refurbish donated bikes for resale, proceeds from which are used to support the project. We run occasional tutored bike repair and maintenance sessions and socialble rides. We are working in partnership with the University of Brighton Students Union and FIELD at Preston Barracks.
A Community based campaign working to improve air quality and reduce traffic related CO2, NO2, particulate and other emissions along Brighton's Lewes Road corridor. A community partner with Brighton & Hove City Council on the Lewes Road improvement scheme, to promote sustainable transport along the A270, supported by the Department for Transport's Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF). Initiated the Bike Train group-cycling project and the Bike Hub community cycle workshop, now based at Preston Barracks on Lewes Road.
Promoting a fun safety-in-numbers approach to cycling by organising group bike rides to events in the Brighton area e.g. rides to events at Stanmer Park, Amex Stadium & Lewes Bonfire Night. We also run occassional rides to local schools and to the universities . As a community partner with B&H City Council we were involved in developng the Lewes Road Improvement Scheme funded through the DfT's Local Sustainable Transport Fund. We were a key partner for the 'Time to Cycle' mass ride from London to Paris COP-21 climate talks in December 2015.
