I have conducted extensive and award winning research on oil spill clean-up and emergency response and engineered my own eco-friendly sorbent to clean up oil spills. I have developed relationships with various representatives in the oil spill response market and received funding and materials from SpillTech Inc., New Pig Inc., Scientific Control Labs, among other corporations, to continue searching for the most effective protocol for environmental emergencies.
I work with campus planners and administrators on the procurement of renewable energy sources and implementation of the most environmentally sustainable and cost-effective practices for the institution.
I was 1 of 4 American undergraduate students selected by the US-UK Fulbright Commission on the basis of leadership, academic ability, character, and ambassadorial qualities to participate in a month-long academic and cultural exchange. I represented the US in England while interacting with world-renowned academics, faculty, and government officials to discuss solutions to climate change. I conducted an extensive evaluation of the systems at the University of Exeter and presented solutions for environmental sustainability, engagement with student body and staff, and reduction of overall carbon emissions.
