Being a ESL/linguistic teacher and researcher with experience in delivering linguistic and English (College Writing/ TESOL/ ESL/ IELTS) lessons in various levels of institutes in the United States and Hong Kong, Roy Chan has conducted research in applied English linguistics in areas like ESL, phonetics, education, and world Englishes.
