Myriad Group AG (SIX:MYRN) was a $100m + enterprise delivering consumer applications, messaging solutions, and embedded software to leading OEMs, mobile operators, and pay TV providers worldwide. Its main line of business was the MSNGR chat app delivered to market with Telcel/Claro and Telefonica. At 190m users (Q2 2015), it was the largest chat community in Latin America at that time. As Interim CEO in 2012, Mike led the creation of a corporate turnaround strategy that cut like for like costs by 50%, and focused the company on its messaging product lines. He led the rebuilding of the MSGNR chat service and growing subscribers from just over 1 million to 38 million within 12 months.
Analysys Mason is the worlds leading specialist telecoms and media strategy consultancy, delivering advice to C-suite and board level clients Mike founded and led the Media practice at Analysys Mason, advising clients on commercial and regulatory policy issues in mobile, online media and broadcast TV. During that period he worked with clients including BT, the BBC, ITV, Ofcom, Calik Holdings, BT, Mubadala, and MDA (Singapore) on issues ranging from online payment and monetisation to mobile sector competition policy. His team made a major contribution to the UK governments high profile "Digital Britain" report on audiovisual production in the UK, and advised on over £1bn of telecoms and media transactions during this period.
