As the Chief Strategy & Technology Officer I lead districtwide strategy execution, long-term planning, and organizational performance, ensuring that vision and priorities translate into measurable impact. The role drives cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation aligned to student outcomes and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include guiding strategic planning, overseeing research and evaluation, and developing change management frameworks that sustain district initiatives. The position also cultivates partnerships with community, business, and higher education organizations to advance strategic priorities and expand opportunities for students. Serves as the District's Chief Information and Technology Officer providing strategic direction and management for all information and educational technology functions including Digital Strategy and Planning, cybersecurity, budgeting, purchasing, organizational development, enterprise systems, audio-visual systems, technology operations, network and infrastructure systems, data intelligence, state reporting, adoption, innovation, end-user training and support.
Serves as the district’s Senior Technology Leader providing direction and management for all technology functions including strategic planning, cybersecurity, budgeting, purchasing, organizational development, enterprise systems, audio-visual systems, technology operations, network and infrastructure systems, data intelligence, end-user training, and end-user support. • Created and implemented the district’s Five-Year Educational Technology Plan based on the Future Ready Framework and the CoSN Framework of Essential Skills. • Reorganized the department to align with the district’s new strategic plan and the Superintendent’s vision. • Relaunched the district’s previously unsuccessful 1-to-1 program, providing all K-6 students with brand new devices, and all 7-12 students with appropriate devices refresh cycles. • Partnered with the Director of Instructional Technology to create and provide training to teachers and staff on new technologies being deployed as part of the new Technology Plan. • Provided over 1,400 of the district’s 5,000 high school students with free Wi-Fi hotspots. • Ripped and replaced the district’s 15-year-old network, telecom, and cybersecurity infrastructure. • Created and implemented the district’s new Cybersecurity Plan. • Reduced the district’s 7850 total applications to under 500. • Created processes and procedures to vet each district technology application for proper alignment with curriculum, strategic goals, CIPA, COPPA, FERPA, and HIPPA. • Replaced the district’s aging technology support ticketing system, policies, and procedures reducing the average ticket close time from 46 days to under 48 hours. • Developed the first ever zero-based budget for the district’s Department of Technology. • Conducted a complete reevaluation of all district technologies, applications, and services resulting in the elimination of over $600k/year in unnecessary and/or duplicate technologies and services
Planned, directed, and managed the strategic and daily IT support operations and services for the district’s 15,000 end users across 21 locations. Led the Technology Support Services Leadership Team consisting of two assistant managers and five team leads. Supervised and directed the work of the 35-person District Technology Operations, Hardware Repair, Logistics, Help Desk, and Building Technology Support staff. • Built a highly passionate and well-trained technology team, whose members have won two Park Hill Star Awards and 11 Star Nominations, for Outstanding Customer Service, within the past 2 years. • Defined the strategy and desired outcomes of assigned program(s) that were aligned to the strategic objectives of the district.Spearheaded the planning and implementation of the district’s 1-to-1 program for grades 2-12. • Developed and Managed the project to upgrade the district from a Windows 7 to a Windows 10 environment with over 19,000 devices. • Implemented the Sprint ConnectEd grant program to provide low-SES students with Wi-Fi hotspots. • • Served as a member of the district’s Cybersecurity team to create and implement policies, procedures, and projects to mitigate cybersecurity risks throughout the district. (Awarded the Trusted Learning Environment Seal from CoSN in 2017, prepared for Missouri Cyber Security Audit in 2017 and passed with very minor areas of improvement). • Worked in tandem with the Director of Instructional Technology to select and integrate technology tools, training, and services into the curriculum and overall educational environment. • Developed and managed the technology support budget. • Directed the technical support/process documentation, preparation and distribution. Identified needs for and created technical documentation. • Oversaw the research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies. • Implemented district technology plans.
