      My time was split between the Geographic Research and Information Team and Public Health Intelligence. GIS team I help maintain the councils internal web mapping system (Pitney Bowes Stratus). I provide Stratus training and troubleshooting for council staff (>900 users) and promote GIS self-service. I undertake spatial analysis projects for the council and assist with the management of the local land and property gazetteer (LLPG) for Kirklees. During my post I have developed a deep knowledge of Pitney Bowes GIS software, MapInfo, and its extensions; Vertical Mapper and Route-finder. Public Health Intelligence From September 2014 (until Sept 2015) I have been seconded to Kirklees Public Health Intelligence Team. I undertake projects using public health data and provide maps and spatial analysis. A recent project involved assisting with the production of Kirklees Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2014 (link below).

      A paid, National Environment Research Council (NERC) funded doctorate for research which focussed on understanding the dynamics of the Greenland Ice Sheet in response to climate change. The research was multi-faceted; monitoring spatio-temporal variations in supraglacial lake drainage, analysing seasonal changes in ice surface velocity and examining high-resolution ice surface elevation variations. I presented my research at national and international conferences and published the results in a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals (see publications section).
