I have extensive experience working in some of the most advanced R&D organizations in Canada, the United States, and Germany, ranging from hands-on research and development to leading teams of scientists and engineers. I currently head Clickmox Solutions Inc. in Canada, which provides consultancy, product development, and contractor services to the mining and industrial sectors in the areas of 3D LiDAR scanning, robotics, geotechnical monitoring, point cloud data processing, convergence monitoring, and simulations. I always research and identify new business prospects such as new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, collaborations, goods and services, and new ways to reach existing markets. I have also worked extensively on LLM training of different models. Additionally, I've had more than 20 years of experience teaching and supervising graduate and undergraduate students. ๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž: Technology integration and implementation, Automation, Robotics, Electronics, Software design (strategy, algorithm, implementation: key programming/scripting languages), Hardware interfaces, Optical communications, Sensor systems, Large scale monitoring and control, Tele-robotics, Mining technologies, Underwater communications, Underground optical communications, Wireless technologies, GIS, Physics.

Experience

  • President at Clickmox Solutions Inc
    Jul 2013 - Present ยท 13 yrs

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Key Highlights & Achievements: โ—ผ๏ธ Managing the development of several turn-key solutions for the mining industry including Expert Systems and fuzzy+AI integrated solutions. โ—ผ๏ธ Supervised the creation of the first 3D laser scanning and mapping equipment in the industry that is incredibly portable and can be used for both fixed and mobile scanning without GPS. The system is currently marketed and in use in several nations. โ—ผ๏ธ Managed algorithm and coding for a real-time mobile 3D laser scanning program based on simultaneous localization and mapping technology. The program was created in C++ and ran on ROS on a Linux platform.

  • Sessional Professor at Laurentian University/Universitรฉ Laurentienne
    2005 - Present ยท 21 yrs 6 mos

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Key Highlights & Achievements: โ—ผ๏ธ Teaching courses in Physics, Engineering and Computer Science

  • Senior Technology Advisor (on subcontract) at Rio Tinto Centre for Underground Mine Construction at CEMI
    Aug 2013 - Aug 2014 ยท 1 yr 1 mo

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Key Highlights & Achievements: โ—ผ๏ธ Provided consulting and advisory services in the fields of geotechnical monitoring, convergence measures, and 3D laser scanning in underground mine entrances. โ—ผ๏ธ Advised Rio Tinto on drilling techniques for measuring the depth of stress-induced fractures in subterranean block-cave pillars and walls.

  • Automation Group Leader at Mining Technologies International (MTI)
    Jul 2010 - Oct 2012 ยท 2 yrs 4 mos

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Key Highlights & Achievements: โ—ผ๏ธ Developed a roadmap to transition the company from humanly controlled machinery to semi- and fully autonomous robots, and managed the implementation of multi-tiered solutions to achieve this aim promptly. โ—ผ๏ธ Established a plan to realize cooperative working relationships and started and formulated collaboration opportunities for MTI with academic and research institutes. โ—ผ๏ธ Consulted with educational and research institutes like CEMI, Laurentian University, and Cambrian College to identify the common ground needed to advance. The completion of these collaborations is near. โ—ผ๏ธ Supervised the initial stage of automation's deployment on a nine-axis perimeter drill boom for underground mining, which used a multi-sensor-based semi-automated system. โ—ผ๏ธ Initiated and oversaw a project to model and create a robotic arm for perimeter drilling utilizing MATLAB/Simulink tools, PID controllers, and an xPC real-time target machine connected to hydraulic actuators and sensors. โ—ผ๏ธ Worked on attracting external research and development funding to ensure MTI's R&D projects are sustainable and lead to the development of cutting-edge technology. โ—ผ๏ธSupervised the creation of an RFID-based collision prevention system. The system is currently in the prototyping phase.

  • Senior Research Scientist at Penguin ASI Inc.
    Mar 2005 - Jul 2010 ยท 5 yrs 5 mos

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Key Highlights & Achievements: โ—ผ๏ธ Developed a roadmap to transition the company from humanly controlled machinery to semi- and fully autonomous robots, and managed the implementation of multi-tiered solutions to achieve this aim promptly. โ—ผ๏ธ Designed leader for monitoring and control system for a large mine in Chili. โ—ผ๏ธ Served as a team member of the smart rock project, which used very low-frequency radio waves to measure the mass movement of rock during mining operations. โ—ผ๏ธ Acted as the project leader for the development of underwater audio communications for scuba divers. Completed the first phase of the project within four months: two-way full duplex audio transfer using optical transceivers. โ—ผ๏ธ Worked on developing the prototype of the product to be used by scuba divers.
