Prof. Dr. Sean Patrick Sassmannshausen is Professor for Business Administration and Entrepreneurship and Head of the Start-up Center at OTH Regensburg, Germany (Technical University of Applied Science). According to external evaluations and national rankings, OTH Regensburg is one of Germany's leading Higher Education Institutes in the field of Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship activities have expanded over the past years, and based on European programs, OTH Regensburg has become a European role model for entrepreneurial culture, education and support in higher education. With its many activities, OTH Regensburg is the breeding ground for fast growing start-ups and regional dynamics. Besides his main position, Prof. Dr. Sean Patrick Sassmannshausen is a visiting Professor at Aarhus University (Denmark) and at RISEBA University (Latvia). Patrick previously had been Interim-Professor for Business Administration, Management of SME and Entrepreneurship at University of Siegen, Germany, Managing Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Institute at Schumpeter School of Business and Economics, University of Wuppertal. Besides research projects and teaching obligations, his responsibilities include research funding, start-up support and fostering academic spin-offs. Patrick was born in Wexford, Ireland. He had studied Intercultural Management and Evolutionary Economics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University and the Max Planck Institute in Jena, Germany, and Scandinavian Area Studies in Odense, Denmark. He earned a Doctorate in Entrepreneurship, Business and Economics at Schumpeter School, University of Wuppertal, Germany. In summer 2007 he visited Harvard Business School where he participated in a program on entrepreneurship. During 2008 he was a Visiting Professor at Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona. He holds Visiting Faculty Positions in Austria and the Baltics. He has presented scientific papers at leading international conferences including Babson and AOM and has published in various entrepreneurship journals and is member of the Review Board of IJEBR, the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research and the Journal of Business Management.
