Dr.I.Rajendran, received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and master’s degree in Engineering Design in 1991 and 1994 respectively from College of Engineering-Guindy, Anna University, Chennai. He received his doctoral degree from PSG College of Technology, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2001. He has 32 years of teaching & industrial experience and 25 years of research experience. He has published 55 papers in national & international journals and 30 papers in national and international conferences and 4 patents (Q1:12, Q2:16, Q3:10, Q4:4, h-index: 22, i10 index: 31, Citations: 2773). His research interest includes Composite materials, Design optimization, Finite element analysis, Machining, Vibration analysis etc. He has guided 9 research scholars and currently guiding 5 research scholars and guided more than 40 Under Graduate and 20 Post Graduate students’ projects. He organized many International and National conferences, Sponsored Faculty Development Programmes, workshops and seminars. He has extensively contributed for NBA, NAAC, NIRF, Autonomous and University affiliation activities and involved in developing outcome-based curriculum in collaboration leading industries.He also has served as Convenor, Board of Studies, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore and examination cell convenor. He has developed core engineering faculty members to handle emerging technology subjects such as Problem solving using Python, Data Science, AI&ML, PLM, MBSE, NPD, IIoT, and Additive Manufacturing.He has played a key role in establishing Centre of Excellences with leading industries and regularly guiding students for pursuing higher studies in abroad. He received around 40 lakhs from various funding agencies. He received the “Innovative Potential of Students Projects Award at Doctoral Level” from Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), New Delhi, for his Ph.D. thesis and “The N. K. Iyengar Memorial Medal for the best practice-oriented paper from The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkatta. He also received Outstanding Engineer Award for the year 2019 in Mechanical Engineering from Institution of Engineers (India) Coimbatore Local Centre. He is a Life Member of The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), System Society of India (SSI), and Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE) and also, he is a Fellow and Chartered Engineer of The Institution of Engineers (India).
