Rachel is a qualified sociologist and public policy professional. She is Head of McKinnon’s Next Horizon program which works to enhance the pipeline of political leadership talent and address the systemic barriers that prevent talented and purpose-driven people from entering politics. Rachel's sociological research has focused on equality and belonging in public housing environments, including a doctorate on resistance to public housing redevelopment and an honours thesis on public housing in gentrified neighbourhoods. With a background in strategy and research, social planning, community housing, homelessness, and community development Rachel's work is informed by a commitment to addressing the inequalities which characterise contemporary society.
