Moreover, the doctor’s degree in economic sciences certainly helped me never to lose sight of the economic requirements of business management – an ability that is quite useful when dealing with emerging industries facing a total transformation in terms of the products and services. OSRAM, based in Munich, is a globally leading lighting manufacturer with a history dating back more than 100 years. After several positions in companies operating on an international scale, I held the position as OSRAM’s Chief Executive Officer for 6 years. Key achievements: Lead OSRAM’s transformation from an iconic lighting company into a high-tech photonics champion, by finding the best owners for OSRAM’s legacy businesses. Driving a complete turnaround of the product portfolio, which is 80% semiconductor based today in 2021. Implementing a Buy & Build Strategy for high-tech competencies. Making bold investments, such as a modern 6-inch LED factory in Kulim/Malaysia, high-growth Photonics applications such as Horticulture, UV-C or Micro LED as well as the FLUXUNIT venture capital arm.
