Dr. Nico Raabe is a partner at McKinsey & Company’s Berlin office and leads the McKinsey Center for Government in Europe. Since joining the firm in 2008, he has served public- and private-sector clients globally across a range of industries, helping them address transformational challenges, including mergers and acquisitions. In addition to the public sector, his core industry focus areas include aerospace & defence, automotive, and energy. Nico Raabe is also an expert in effectively engaging with works councils and unions during large-scale transformations, mergers, and carve-outs. Prior to joining McKinsey, Nico Raabe spent eight years working part-time as an advisor to the chief whip of one of the major parliamentary groups in Germany’s federal parliament. Supported by a board scholarship from Deutsche Telekom, he completed a PhD on the role of unions on German supervisory boards. He holds a master’s degree (Diplom) in business administration from Humboldt University of Berlin. Nico Raabe is also active in a number of non-profit organisations. He serves as a board member of the Margot Friedländer Foundation, the Foundation of the German War Graves Commission, the German Orient Foundation, and the Founders’ Council of Berlin Cathedral. In 2011, he was made an Honorary Knight of the German branch of the Order of St. John.
