Managing Ion Microscopy Innovation Center, Peabody, USA, with 75 employees producing leading edge Ion Beam Technology. Responsible for P&L, R&D, operations, logistics, procurement, application, product management, and customer support.
The scope of my experience includes: Responsibility for the product generation at Carl Zeiss Nanotechnology Systems GmbH as Senior Director for research and development over the last five years. Structuring and managing a network of international research and development groups in Cambridge (GB), Peabody (USA) and Oberkochen (Germany) with over 150 scientists and engineers in the field of electron microscopy. Participation of several due diligence and acquisition processes of entrepreneurial companies and their integration into the Zeiss group. Constitution and execution of national and European funding projects. Coordination and participation of international scientific and business collaborations. Elaborating strategies for a world class product portfolio in microscopy meeting the requirements of life science, material science, and semiconductor markets. Creation of technology concepts, intellectual property, and application roadmaps. Translation into a R&D roadmap and operational project execution. During my managerial responsibility I have accomplished advanced leadership skills focussing on teambuilding processes, education of leadership principles as well as coaching of communication and motivation techniques.
