I am an MBBS physician currently serving as a House Officer at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Malir, Karachi, with previous clinical training at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), one of Pakistan's largest tertiary care teaching hospitals and leading trauma centres. My experience in military and civilian healthcare settings has provided hands-on exposure to emergency medicine, emergency surgery, trauma care, internal medicine, and acute patient management. My responsibilities include patient assessment, history taking, physical examination, interpretation of laboratory and imaging findings, formulation of differential diagnoses, evidence-based management, clinical documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. At JPMC, I gained experience managing trauma, medical and surgical emergencies, critically ill patients, and other high-acuity cases. These experiences strengthened my clinical reasoning, rapid decision-making, teamwork, and ability to work effectively under pressure. Alongside clinical practice, I have a strong interest in medical writing, healthcare communication, and clinical documentation. I prepare clinical case summaries, admission notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, emergency documentation, educational content, and evidence-based medical articles. I am particularly interested in medical scribing, where my clinical background supports accurate documentation, medical terminology, physician workflows, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment planning. I am committed to continuous learning and expanding my expertise in emergency medicine, clinical documentation, healthcare research, digital health, and evidence-based practice. During my final year of MBBS, I had the valuable opportunity to complete a significant portion of my surgical clinical rotation at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), one of Pakistan’s leading tertiary care teaching hospitals. This experience provided me with extensive exposure to a demanding surgical environment, allowing me to strengthen both my clinical understanding and practical appreciation of patient care in high-volume settings. During this rotation, I worked closely within units managing General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery cases, where I actively observed and assisted senior residents and consultants in evaluating, managing, and following up patients presenting with a wide range of surgical conditions. This helped me develop a stronger understanding of patient assessment, surgical decision-making, peri-operative planning, and post-operative management. A major part of my clinical learning came through exposure to Emergency Surgery, where I observed the management of acute surgical presentations requiring rapid evaluation and timely intervention. Working in fast-paced settings improved my ability to think systematically under pressure while understanding the importance of timely clinical decision-making. In addition, I gained meaningful exposure to Trauma Surgery cases, where I observed acute stabilization protocols and multidisciplinary teamwork involved in managing critical patients. I also had opportunities to assist and observe multiple surgical procedures, improving my understanding of operative discipline, sterile techniques, and procedural precision in the operating theatre. This experience played a major role in shaping my professional development by reinforcing qualities essential in medicine: discipline, adaptability, resilience, teamwork, and commitment to lifelong learning. It strengthened my passion for clinical excellence and further motivated me to build a career dedicated to becoming a competent and dependable physician.
