I am a creative historian who works across the public and academic sectors. I have over twenty years of research and writing experience in the area of nineteenth-century Indigenous and women's histories and have also published nationally and internationally on the topics of speculative biography and life writing. I love finding fresh and creative ways of communicating my research and am currently the Vice President of the History Council of New South Wales as well as a member of the Sydney Living Museum's Curatorial and Public Engagement Advisory Committee. In addition to presenting on radio and working on podcasts, I have been a consultant and on-camera historian for a 4-part series entitled LAWLESS: The Real Bushrangers which first aired on Foxtel's History Channel in Oct/Nov 2017. As well as winning awards for my teaching I have also designed two online public history courses on the GLAM sector. My first book, The Convict's Daughter, was a speculative biography that was published with Allen & Unwin in 2016 and my second, Wild Love (working title) will be published in Allen & Unwiin in 2022. A book which I coedited with Donna Brien on the topic of speculative biography will be published with Routledge in 2022, as will a co-authored article on Creative Histories in History Australia. In 2018, I was awarded a federally-funded Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) which I have been conducting at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
