About

I hold a PhD in Veterinary Sciences with 20 years of experience in the livestock and poultry sector, specializing in planning, implementation, and monitoring of development projects. I have worked with leading organizations including the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), CAB International (CABI), FAO, GIZ, GFA, IPS, Hashoo Foundation, Relief International, CARD-F, MEDVAC, TAIC, NSDP, MEDA, OMEED, DACAAR, and MAIL Afghanistan, as well as with government departments in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Sri Lanka. I have collaborated with major donor agencies such as UNDP, USAID, ADB, CIDA, DFID, DANIDA, UNODC, SDC, PPAF, JICA, RNE, and the World Bank. My expertise includes livestock value chain development, training design, field assessments, policy and strategy formulation, and development of manuals and extension materials. I have also introduced innovative and sustainable practices in livestock and poultry production systems. As a trainer, I have trained over 8,600 farmers, graduates, and extension workers on good livestock and poultry practices. My work spans data collection and analysis, market development, business planning, knowledge sharing, farm economics, communication skills, and results-based project management. I have supported agribusiness and value chain integration through capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance. I am experienced in designing and executing evaluations, identifying gaps in technical knowledge, and improving program outcomes. My reporting skills include feasibility studies, assessments, data tools, research documentation, and donor proposal development. I have worked extensively in rural and fragile environments, applying context-based strategies to improve productivity, livelihoods, and food security. I am fluent in English, Urdu, Pashto, and Persian, with working knowledge of Punjabi. My international experience across South and Central Asia, including Singapore, makes me a well-rounded expert in livestock systems and development programming.
