I am a Lecturer and Teaching Associate in Film & Screen Studies. My research crosses the boundary between cinema history and visual art theory and "intermedial filmmakers such as Dennis Hopper, Sofia Coppola & Julian Schnabel.
"Uses of Film Theories" is a cornerstone unit for students wishing to complete their undergraduate major in film studies whilst also existing as a pre-requisite for further post-graduate study at RMIT. "TV Screen Cultures" is a unit that explores practices of consumption, and issues of taste and audience formation within across television and screen studies. Examining popular culture and methods of textual analysis, students evaluate televisual texts, with opportunities to explore how television has developed and is changing as a popular, cultural and aesthetic medium.
I have experience working in different departments including Wills & Estates, Family Law, and Conveyancing. In this role I assist with the preparation of documents for Wills, Deeds, Probate and Mediation. I have experience using both FilePro and LEAP programs for office administration purposes. I assist with dictation services that coincide with letter writing and typing affidavits. I have witnessed Wills and travelled to visit clients (who are unable to travel) and to deliver documents.
I write, record, and present weekly lecture (or seminar) content for students in enrolled in Film & Screen Studies Units. I have taught cohorts for up to 100 students both virtually and on-campus. I designed syllabus programs alongside the Unit Coordinator, I have experience marking and providing feedback for assignments and exams. I have extensive experience using Moodle, Zoom and Panopto to design hybrid-remote tutorial plans including making use of quizzes, polls, and messaging services.
I specialise teaching in is undergraduate Film and Screen Studies. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of my research work, I teach Film & Screen units using a combination of Arts and Visual Culture theory. I have experience teaching the following units: First Year Units: “Introduction to Film Studies” and "Introduction to Television" Second Year Unit: “Film Genre and Remakes” and "Long Form Television: HBO and Beyond" Third Year Unit: "Alternatives in Film and Television"
These 'Support Classes' were specifically designed for International and ESL Students who required further assistance completing the Introduction to Television Unit at Monash University. Each class assisted students to help understand complex terminology found in the weekly readings and lectures, answered student questions and provided further in-depth explanations for upcoming assignments and exams.
In 2019, I was awarded with a writing position that was part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) Fashion Writing Mentorship Program. This mentorship program was specifically created to support the best up-and-coming Australian talent in the fields of writing, journalism and blogging. As a position open to writers Australia-wide, I was one of six writers chosen by VAMFF to publish a variety of content for the official VAMFF website. I attended several runway fashion shows, the Fashion Film Award Night, and public events (including exhibitions held at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) as well as fashion illustration workshops) and wrote about each of these visually delectable experiences for other VAMFF attendees on the official VAMFF website.
Between 2013 and 2017, I worked as a Retail Sales Professional at David Jones, Bourke Street, working across departments such as Luxury Accessories, Fashion & Shoes, Homewares, Intimate Apparel, Childrenswear and Toys, as well as the in-store concierge service.
