I am a Clinical Biochemist with over a decade of post-MD experience in laboratory medicine, quality management, and diagnostic innovation. My training includes an MD in Biochemistry from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, and Fellowship in Clinical Biochemistry from the Royal College of Pathologists (UK). I also hold an MBA in Hospital and Health Systems Management from BITS Pilani, reflecting my interest in integrating clinical expertise with healthcare systems leadership. My professional focus lies at the intersection of clinical laboratory excellence, quality systems, and digital transformation in diagnostics. I have extensive experience managing clinical chemistry, special immunoassays, and serology services while implementing laboratory quality systems aligned with ISO 15189 and international accreditation standards. I currently oversee critical testing services and hospital-wide Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) programs, ensuring quality assurance across decentralized testing environments. As Chair of the POCT Committee, I work closely with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen governance, patient safety, and compliance with global laboratory standards. A major area of my interest is leveraging technology to optimize laboratory workflows and patient care. I have collaborated with IT teams to design and implement digital solutions within LIS and hospital information systems, including electronic specimen tracking, automated result authorization, critical result alert systems with read-back documentation, and integrated audit trails. These initiatives have significantly improved operational efficiency, reduced transcription errors, and enhanced patient safety. Academically, I remain engaged in research and professional development, with several peer-reviewed publications in laboratory medicine, healthcare technology, and quality management. I am an Associate Fellow of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine and an International Specialist in Clinical Chemistry certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. I am particularly interested in advancing technology-driven laboratory ecosystems, digital diagnostics, laboratory automation, and quality engineering in laboratory medicine, contributing to future-ready diagnostic services that support better clinical decisions and patient outcomes.
