Dr. Jarvis Sheffield, Ed.D., has been involved in various forms of multimedia for over 20 years. He has done graphic design, web design, video and animation multimedia and has written technical articles for various publications. Dr. Sheffield has taught seminars and workshops and classes on technology and education. He holds a BS degree in Interdisciplinary studies from Tennessee State University where he formed a foundation of determination by living the school’s motto- Think, Work, Serve. He further refined his skills with hard work and integrity by earning a Master’s Degree in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Recently, he elevated his potential by earning his Doctorate of Education from Alverno College in Leadership. Historic Tennessee State University Founded in 1912, Tennessee State University has grown dramatically from a small college to two campuses: the 500-acre main campus and the downtown Avon Williams campus, which is located in the heart of Nashville near the State Capitol. TSU has been listed for 11 consecutive years in the U.S. News & World Report “Guide to America’s Best Colleges.” Duties and Responsibilities: • Oversee the Media Center located at the main campuses and supervise a staff. • Select, build and develop a collection of digital media and other timely and relevant resources to support the academic programs of the University. • Maintain updates of all media resources of available materials including streaming videos, films, tapes, photos, slides, and applicable software. • Schedule meetings with various academic departments to determine multimedia needs for instructional purposes. • Provide support for faculty and students needing media presented in a classroom setting. • Responsible for taping University-sponsored programs and events, such as, commencements, convocations, lyceums, etc. • Manages, plans and coordinates regular workshops in the University's Makerspace Lab.

Dragon Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US. Taking place over ever Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, Dragon Con is THE place to be for fans of all things pop culture. The Diversity Track includes important and interrelated dimensions of human identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, nationality, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and age. Diversity enhances the intellectual, emotional, economic, moral, and spiritual life of the community. Facilitate the diversity and customer service training for track volunteers and staff Responsible for over 33 hours of unique programming content, matching guests and attending professionals to appropriate panels, arranging moderators and all background logistics such a technical, handicap or security needs. Working with the 124 other departments at Dragon Con to reduce scheduling conflicts specific to my department. Publicizing Track events by coordinating with Dragon Con press, social media, TV and broadcasting departments. Maintain an official web page and Facebook page for the department.
