Dr. Heike Deggim is a marine engineer and joined the International Maritime Organization in September 1993, having worked in the naval shipbuilding industry and later in various positions in the German Maritime Administration. Following a 30-year career in IMO, she is now Director of IMO’s Marine Environment Division.
