About

Dr. Edward Earl Coffey Jr. was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA but moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1996 to attend college. After being a victim of gun violence in 2003 (seeing his best friend die beside him), Edward decided to break the cycle of violence within the community by addressing his own mental health disorder (PTSD) as well as the mental health needs of the community. In doing so, Edward became a licensed clinical mental health counselor who works primarily with populations who struggle with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, as well as other interpersonal life stressors. Currently, Edward provides therapy to at-risk youth within the North Carolina Public School System. Edward’s motto as it to counseling and life itself is “Each One, Teach One, Reach One”.
