As well as basic services which include translations for published works (mainly fiction) interpreting including conference interpreting, Anglo-Italian consultants provide assistance to exporters from the United Kingdom principally to Italy and vice versa. This includes expertise and advice in marketing and attendance and setting up of stands at exhibitions with licences and relevant paperwork, assistance in expanding developing markets especially in the wine trade and ceramic and terracotta industries. We have also assisted the private and public sectors in organising major international conferences and high profile events and documentaries which have involved the media in the UK and Italy.
Delivering lectures on Italianate subjects and mainly on Italian history, literature and art history at Universities on many aspects of Italian Civilisation. Lecturing on Sir Anthony Panizzi, Renato Fucini, Edgar Degas and Italy, The Italian proto-impressionists the Macchiaioli School of artists- Giovanni Fattori, Telemaco Signorini, Francesco and Luigi Gioli, Eugenio Cecconi.
I was appointed to teach the modules on The History of the Italian Book 1465- 1800 for the M.A. in the History of the Book awarded by the University of London. The course was conceived of By Professor Robin Alston and was later directed by Professors Warwick Gould and Simon Eliot.
Apart from the selection of contemporary and antiquarian material from Italy,Italian Speaking Switzerland (The Ticino) former Italian colonies in Africa and from Greece and answering complex queries on the BL's collections, I was called on by BL Marketing to assist with the expansion of the BL's market in Italy and France and to assist in organising the Millenium Conference on Digiltalisation in Bologna in 1999 and to edit the conference proceedings with Pauline Connolly. I organised the exhibition on Sir Anthony Panizzi (1797-1879) with John Fuggles held in the King's Library and wrote the labels for the permanent exhibition on Italian printing 1465-to date (six large cases) also held in the King's Library.I also contributed to the Switzerland Exhibition; The British Library edited by Robin Alston. I published the British Library's Risorgimento Collections (Bauker Saur) 1996; The Italian Book 1465-1800, 1993; and several articles for The (e)BLJ.I was the BL's co-investigator with the AHRC funded (£1.1 million) Italian Academies Project 1525-1700 with Royal Holloway and reading University. I have edited the Conference proceedings of the International Conference on the Italian learned Academies held t the BL in September 2012 with Jane Everson and Lisa Sampson to be published in Oxford (Legenda) in 2016
The acquisition and selection of books and periodicals to be added to the British Library's holdings; Running and managing on a daily basis the Italian Learned Academies project with a team of six on a grant of £1.1 million from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC); Organizing an international conference on the Italian Academies and editing with Jane Everson and Lisa Sampson the proceedings of this Conference; answering complex scholarly queries on the BL's Italian collections; Teaching an M.A. course on The history of the Book at London University; Supervising theses; writing scholarly articles and delivering lectures to learned societies and international conferences at home and abroad etc.
Teaching classes on Italian Language and Literature (Dante,Modern Literature e.g. Verga, Pavese, Calvino, Sciascia etc.) ;running the Italian side of the Language Laboratory; research and publishing articles and delivering papers at Society for Italian Studies Conferences; administration; interviewing students for admission; ordering new Italian acquisitions for the University Library; acting as moral tutor to university students on courses and at Stephenson Hall; expanding dual honours courses with numerous other subject in the Faculty of Arts
