The core task of the position as Manager and Managing Director is the leadership and strategic development of the Procurement and Logistics service areas with responsibility for 1,600 employees, the commercial budget and a purchasing spend of over € 1.5 billion. The range of tasks includes defining the divisional strategy and its implementation as well as creating the framework conditions for implementing measures to optimise costs, ensure security of supply and effective supplier management and optimise the supply chain and logistics. Consideration of risk management, compliance and corporate governance in the management processes and integrating the legal requirements and projects in the context of sustainability into day-to-day business in procurement and logistics. Leading the cooperation of Fresenius entities in procurement projects at European level, with a focus on price negotiations to realise group-internal synergies and on sustainability.
The function is responsible for the strategic direction of the Procurement and Warehousing with 300 employees, the management of the centralised units in Procurement (Category Management / Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Excellence, Shared Services Center Purchasing) as well as the functional responsibility for operational purchasing and warehouse logistics. Management of two purchasing companies and responsibility for a purchasing spend of over € 1.3 billion. The core tasks include cost optimisation for the clinics, ensuring security of supply for the clinics by optimising supply chain management, including during the 2020/2021 coronavirus pandemic, organisational development (processes, structure, system) and the expansion of indirect purchasing in collaboration with the specialist departments. Following the acquisition of the Spanish hospital group Quirónsalud by Fresenius in 2017: Lead the cooperation of Fresenius entities in procurement projects at European level with focus on negotiations to realize group-internal synergies.
Responsibility for all strategic and operational procurement processes in the waste management sector, ensuring compliance with public procurement law (> 120 tenders p.a., purchasing spend > € 180 million) Successful strategic and professional development of central purchasing department through reorganisation and repositioning to achieve defined savings.
Responsibility for the Germany-wide procurement organisation with a purchasing spend > € 180 million. Structuring of Category Management in Germany and international cooperation in Procurement projects within the Veolia Environnement Group to optimise costs. Technical management of logistics to optimise the logistics locations (>150) in Germany and for the technical standardisation of the vehicle fleet (> 1,500 waste disposal vehicles).
Development of a concept and establishment of a group-wide procurement organisation in Germany, including strategy, process, structure and system, as well as the identification and realisation of significant savings.
