My professional objective is support of worldwide and regional companies in logistics services (carriers, forwarders, 3/4PLs, shippers in various industries and others - in all modes of transportation and all services) in making their business run better and more efficient by use of innovative SAP software solutions. As Chief Solution Architect for SAP's Transportation solution @ Westernacher, I target to build the bridge between the needs of our customers and SAP's solution competence by aligning customer requirements, flexible business processes, target architectures, software capabilities, and project control and feasibility. My dialog partners reach from CxO's to business leads, from program managers to subject matter experts, from end users to IT architects - I consider all of their views important as they may have an essential influence to the success of a transformation program and software implementation. By talking to and collaborating with many logistics companies in 3PL, rail, air, ocean, road, contract logistics, or parcel business, as well as many customers from e.g. trading, manufacturing, automotive, or retail industry with SCM focus, I was able to gain a panoramic view and knowledge of logistics processes, which helps my customers and me to identify synergies, innovations, and opportunities for improvement. My experience has been fed during 25+ years by my various roles as - senior trusted advisor in many strategic software implementation projects in logistics and manufacturing companies - SAP development project manager coordinating large, mid-size and smaller software development projects of up to 15000PDs / 100 FTEs (e.g. SAP EM, SAP TM, SAP AII). - software and application architect for business applications / components, technical frameworks and integration - software developer for ABAP, C++, and other more exotic environments Besides that, I make use of my experience as coauthor and "project lead" of several logistic related books / publications.
