Dr. Omid Sharifi is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Computer Engineering and Software Engineering. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at Tarsus University, Mersin, Türkiye, where he has been serving since September 2025. Dr. Sharifi obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the prestigious Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Famagusta, North Cyprus, in 2014. His academic journey led him to an Assistant Professor position in the Computer Engineering Department at Hasan Kalyoncu University, Gaziantep, Türkiye, before he transitioned to Toros University in 2015. He continued his academic career at Toros University, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in August 2025. After a decade of service at Toros University, he joined Tarsus University as an Associate Professor in September 2025 and continues his work there. His research interests are diverse and encompass the fields of Biometrics, Pattern Recognition, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Multimodal Biometric Fusion. Dr. Sharifi is a recognized expert in these areas and has made significant contributions through his research and academic work. Dr. Sharifi is an active participant in the academic community and the broader research landscape. He frequently engages in conferences, both as a speaker and a committee member, where he shares his expertise and collaborates with peers in the field. Additionally, he has an impressive track record of publishing high-impact papers in reputable journals and conferences, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and technology in his areas of interest.
