Dr. Nick Doumpas, PhD

Junior scientist ETH DBSSE

Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland

About

I have been a dedicated member of the research community since 2006, when I entered the fascinating word of science. It was my PhD thesis in the lab of Dr Teleman in the German Cancer Research Institute (DKFZ) in Heidelberg that matured my scientific way of thinking and allowed me to build a strong connection with basic subjects of biological research. Since, March 2014 I joined the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences (IMLS) in Zurich as a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Prof. Konrad Basler, where I am studying the Wnt signaling pathway in human cell lines and in mouse embryonic stem cells (mESC). Through the last 10 years I have obtained a lot of experience on working with human cell lines , drosophila cell lines and stem cells. I am an expert in molecular engineering and Crispr/Cas9 system and my numerous publications in high impact journals, with the most recent one being published in 2019, reflect upon that.
