I am a freelance graphic designer, with over 30 years experience, based in South East London. I design for print, mostly illustrated books and magazines, specialising in photography and sports. I'm a bit old fashioned like that...
Since 1998 I have been a freelance designer working primarily on illustrated books and magazines. I was Art Editor of When Saturday Comes magazine until 2018 and series designer for the specialist sports heritage imprint Played in Britain, edited by Simon Inglis, until 2014. I am currently freelance Art Editor at Vision Sports Publishing designing illustrated books.
For about three years I worked with creative genius Mike Alway designing sleeves for él records re-issues, Alan McGee's Poptones label, Cherry Red and others. We once produced a ltd edition white vinyl 7" of an Orson Welles speech boxed with a Cuban cigar. When you have that on your CV you can die a happy man.
I worked for When Saturday Comes football magazine for ten years during which time the title evolved from groundbreaking fanzine to half decent football magazine. I designed the magazine, WSC books, T-Shirts and promotional material. I continued to work for WSC until 2018 as freelance Art Editor and put together the monthly football photography features.
