The Specialist Targeted Services team delivers some of Australia’s most vital free helpline services, including MensLine Australia, Suicide Call Back Service and SuicideLine Victoria. Lifelines network of Specialist Targeted Services are a 24/7 national charitable provider of suicide prevention, mental health and counselling services. They specialise in remote service provision and using technology to reach people in need.
This position involves the provision of pre-hospital medical services to a range of industrial, corporate and community clients, including at a wide range of low to high risk events, industrial & construction operations, and major incidents & natural disasters. Day to day duties include the provision of pre-hospital medical care &/or health screening under SJWA clinical practice guidelines, including the utilization of specialist Ambulance equipment, medications and skills. The “Coordinator Margaret River Services” role combines clinical and service leadership with location and line management, as well as the provision of direct clinical care to young people and their families.
The clinical team lead role comprised service, team and clinical leadership/ management and the therapeutic care of young people accessing the service. The YSS / Luminos Project is a MHC funded safe space for young people aged 16-24 who are experiencing thoughts of suicide. This service provides short-stay residential therapeutic care for young people with thoughts of suicide, supporting them to engage with psychological / counselling support, peer support and develop emotion regulation, distress tolerance and mindfulness skills. This also includes short term case management to support referrals to ongoing clinical and non clinical care. Ruah Community Services is an integrated community service provider in Western Australia working across the areas of mental health & wellness, family & domestic violence, family support, housing & homelessness and legal services.
This position was part of the clinical team (metro) that delivers a free, face-to-face and tele-health based professional counselling service to young people aged 12 to 25 who are experiencing mental health challenges. This comprised both single session thinking (SST) and ongoing counselling streams to deliver tier-2 youth mental health services to young people who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, family & interpersonal issues, grief/ loss and trauma. This role also included the provision of postvention services to school communities berieved by the loss of someone to suspected suicide.
