Hi! My name is Dori, and I recently graduated Rice University with majors in Social Policy Analysis and Statistics, and minors in Data Science and Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities. Through my coursework at Rice and internship experience, I have developed an interest in the applications of policy analysis in the spheres of disaster recovery, affordable housing, and other social equity topics. I am interested in the intersection of data analysis, public policy, and environmental issues, and hope to continue exploring avenues in which I can combine these topics.
I assist Rice University community with gear and advice on outdoor trips and ensure rental gear and equipment is in prime condition for rentals. As a supervisor, I help train and advise other staff members accomplish this work.
I conducted research and compiled data to provide information on current and future projects across a variety of topics and disciplines to help improve equity and justice across Texas. This position combined quantitative and qualitative approaches to analysis on topics such as equitable housing zoning policies, fair financial services, and criminal justice court equity.
As a policy intern for the Disaster Recovery branch, I analyzed disaster recovery policies and legislation and researched current events related to natural hazards, disaster survivors, and affordable housing strategies.
