About

In 2021, Donta Myles became only the 5th African American to be elected to the Niagara Falls City Council within the city’s 130-year history; after running for the first time in 2019. This did not stop him as he continued to spread his message of becoming a voice to represent the people of Niagara Falls regardless of the levels of opposition he faced! Prior to seeking elected office, Donta has been fighting for a better quality of life. He has been a community advocate and activist in Niagara Falls for over the past decade. After several years of advocating in city hall and based on the needs and mission of the Niagara Falls Peacemakers, Donta leaped at the opportunity to lead the Niagara Falls Peacemaker effort which allowed him to be hands-on serving his community. Donta became the first President of the Niagara Falls Peacemakers in 2018 positioning Donta as one of the top community leaders in the area. He currently serves as an advisor to the group as part of the administration team. Donta is a self-taught musician. He is the Founder/CEO of D Belly Productions. A music production company, where instrumental and vocal tracks are produced for local artists. D Belly Productions is also a recording studio. Music is his passion, and he has become an inspiring artist to many. Donta is also a self-taught barber. Donta became a highly skilled community and social justice organizer after joining the “Faith in Action'' Leadership Training. Donta then joined the Social Justice and Equity Commission addressing health disparities. He became the President of the Niagara Street School Parent Engagement Group.
