As Curator and Director of the Lechner Museum in Ingolstadt, I work on exhibitions that approach sculpture as an ongoing way of thinking about space, material and presence. My interest lies in how artistic positions from the post-war period resonate within contemporary practice; and how exhibitions can activate this dialogue in a direct, physical way. Projects such as 'A Matter of Perspective' and my work with contemporary artists like Lisa Seebach reflect this approach: exhibitions are conceived as spatial arguments. I am less interested in illustrating art historical narratives than in creating precise situations in which works unfold through their materiality, scale and relation to the viewer. Alongside curating, I publish and contribute to exhibition catalogues and essays, and I actively engage in research. Initiating and hosting a scholarly conference at the museum has been part of this commitment, bringing together art historical research and curatorial practice to discuss the relevance of sculpture and art today.
