Fifteen years in energy project controls has taken me from offshore wind to onshore gas to refinery turnarounds — working both sides of the contractor/operator relationship and picking up the kind of tacit knowledge that no classroom teaches. I specialise in advanced scheduling (Primavera P6, MS Project), strategic planning, and project controls frameworks that actually get used rather than filed away. My MBA gave me the business language to sit at the senior table; the day-to-day work gave me the credibility to hold my ground there. What I bring is a practical, no-nonsense approach to complex project environments — bridging the gap between technical scheduling rigour and commercial decision-making
Led integrated maintenance planning across KM250/KM400 gas facilities, aligning PM campaigns, shutdowns, and capital tie-ins into a unified long-term schedule using Primavera P6. Coordinated a concentrated 4K PM campaign across 10 compressor/engine units, optimising execution sequencing and contractor resource planning. Built Power BI production loss dashboards and a SharePoint-based event tracking system (ISO 14224) to support reliability meetings and data-driven backlog prioritisation. Delivered business justifications for capital project deferrals, incorporating risk and schedule impact analysis to support leadership decisions under operational constraints. Drove SAP PM data quality improvement through systematic work order and notification cleanup, enhancing CMMS integrity and planning accuracy. Provided executive-level reporting on schedule performance, variance against baseline, and budget impacts to asset leadership.
Managing, mentoring, and developing the Planning Team of 5 employees with focus on performance and thriving Overseeing all relevant project control tasks in the EPC portfolio Leading, organizing, and developing the planning function e.g. maintain and improve planning and reporting procedures Supporting Tender & Sales with responses to bids, proposals, and contract negotiations, and give input to capacity Collaborating with Project Managers to collect progress updates, analyse schedule variances, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions Preparing reports for Senior Management meetings with progress, forecast, and mitigation strategies
• I have guided the team towards an upward trend on schedule execution, from 65% to 85% • I have helped lead backlog reviews, reducing the backlog by 15-20% initially and streamlined coming works to help reduce our backlog by half in the space of 2 months. • I have advised the team on the monthly reporting meetings - providing a standard template for both planning and cost which makes comparison and trending much easier • Through regular site visits I have helped build relationships with the execution teams and helped to rebuild confidence in the scheduling process • I was asked to lead the TAR scheduling team - we baselined, executed and reported to plan even during the COVID Crisis.
