Provide contract and pro bono consulting to new democracy networks and initiatives.
Innovated Trust in Free and Fair Elections program and launched Faces of Democracy campaign focused on strengthening U.S. elections. Led communications team and managed internal and external communications assets. Facilitated development of organization’s first theory of change and strategic results framework.
Directed legislative and administration advocacy on U.S. journalism, and global free expression issues, including in Turkey, Belarus, Iran, China, Saudi Arabia. Facilitated bipartisan bicameral introduction of Future of Local News Act in 117th Congress, and introduction of World Press Freedom Resolution with Senate and NGO sponsors.
Oversaw initiatives advocating for journalists’ safety and press access, overseeing RSF's North America chapter, including the United States, Canada, and English-speaking Caribbean. Developed RSF USA’s strategy and theory of change, and led research into harms of social media to journalism.
Developed 5-year strategic plan and operational direction for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) program. Won multi-year bids, designed & implemented innovative projects, and oversaw grantmaking to civil society partners.
