David Nussbaum, considered a double category pioneer, first in monetizing early social media influencers and independent podcasters, then in commercializing modern day hologram communication by taking it from stadiums to classrooms. A lifelong storyteller, he is the named inventor on the patent for the world’s first self‑contained 4K holoportation platform. Recently named to the 2025 TIME100 Health list, he is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Proto Hologram. He is widely regarded as the leading voice in hologram communication and is credited with popularizing the medium globally. He created one of the first celebrity interview podcasts on iTunes, interviewing more than 250 icons including The Fonz Henry Winkler and real‑life Goodfella Henry Hill (he interviewed a lot of famous Henrys). As an early pioneer in the podcast space, he founded the world’s first social media and podcast advertising agency Podville Media in 2009 to fix the business side of the industry. In 2013, using the patents that were famously used to put Tupac on stage at Coachella, he co‑founded a company focused on Pepper’s Ghost technology, bringing late legends like Jenni Rivera, Whitney Houston, and Ronald Reagan back to posthumously perform, before solving the challenge of real‑time holoportation. An award‑winning content creator, writer, and producer, his work has been featured on The Today Show, BBC World News, Good Morning America, CNN, NBC, FOX, CBS, Azteca‑TV, Univision‑TV, Telemundo, CCTV, Discovery Channel, USA Today, AFP, and Netflix; heard on NPR and The Howard Stern Show; and quoted in Popular Mechanics, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and Billboard. He lives in Southern California with his wife Charla and their three children.
You've all seen the digital resurrection performance of Tupac at Coachella. Well, Hologram USA now owns the patented technology that allows "digital resurrections" to be projected as lifelike holograms onto a stage or into any open space. We also use a technique called "telepresence", a way to "beam" anyone or anything from anywhere to anywhere else in real time as interactive holograms. We have recently used telepresence on Jack Black, The Band Berry, Julian Assange and Jimmy Kimmel. Great for entertainment, music, comedy, politics, education, conferences, speaking engagements, religion, advertising, gaming and much more. We recently announced digital resurrection hologram concert tours for Whitney Houston, Dean Martin, and Andy Kaufman.
