Appropriation of digital media, theory, usage, supplier market and critical evaluation In the seminar, various digital media will be examined, especially from the user's perspective. With 'appropriation', we are not only concerned with reception, but with the entire process of making the media 'one's own'. This also includes the influence of users on its media. On the one hand, we look at the logic of the provider perspective and the technological and economic opportunities of digital media, but on the other hand we also critically analyse the social risks. Through invited experts or excursions to important media companies, the students gain practical insights into the digital media world.
Conducting a real-life research project for the Berlin Club Commission on the topic of diversity and discrimination in the club environment. In two working groups, the students conducted qualitative, guideline-based indepth interviews as well as quantitative online interviews. The results of this successful project were presented to the client at the end.
