Experiences & responsibilities: At University Goettingen my research field was combustion chemistry. I was responsible for organization of scientific seminars and practical trainings. I finished 12 publications and my PhD. With European Union “STF fellowship program” I worked afterwards 2 years in Japan as researcher at the University of Tokyo. As Pilot Production Manager I was responsibility to transfer of R&D projects into the routine production (successful production of pilot lots that included also the validation of the production process). As Senior Purchasing Manager I worked in the field of disposables and other plastic parts which are key parts of diagnostic products (primer packaging). The main focuses were projects together with key suppliers (e.g. risk management, sourcing and scale up of production). At Roche Diagnostics I was Head of Travel & Event Management with integration of these functions into procurement. I established the global category for Travel & Event. A further increase of responsibility was the lead of global category management for technical equipment, corporate services, lab chemicals & supply. In addition I was responsible for running a project for developing a Global Procurement Manual and Procurement Training Program. As Head of Global Procurement for Indirect Goods & Services at Sika I was responsible for Global Material Group Management..This included the responsibility for Procurement Policies & Guidelines and establishing standardized processes. In parallel I developed the Procurement Academy, which is running successfully. As Head of Global Category Management I was developing and establishing Global Category Management for the Holcim Group. With the merger of Lafarge and Holcim I took over the responsibility of Global Category Management for “direct goods” (raw materials, equipment, consumables, packaging, mining etc.). I am heading the Best Cost Country Sourcing team with colleagues in APAC, EMEA and Americas.
Implementation Global Category Management organization (cross-functional and cross-regional) within CRH Group.
Responsible for global Category Management of direct goods for whole LH group. First main focus was synergy savings followed by a global implementation of category strategies through cross-functional and cross-regional category teams. Heading Best Cost Country Sourcing (BCCS) team with team members in China, Singapore, Americas and EMEA. Key focus was to find, develop and establish Best Cost Country Suppliers around the globe.
Implementation and managing an empowered and accountable Global Category Management organization (cross-functional and cross-regional) within the Holcim Group. Commercial responsibility for the entire Global Category Management (27 categories) which managed an annual 3rd party spend of CHF 16 bn.
Establishing Indirect Procurement at Sika on global level with responsibility for the whole 3rd party “indirect” group spend of annual CHF 1.1 bn. Heading a team Global Material Group Managers that successfully initiate and establish global sourcing strategies. Development of Procurement policies and guidelines (e.g. Procurement Manual) and implementation of a standardized Procurement processes (Material Group Management, SRM, material and supplier classification, etc.). Development and implementation of the Procurement Academy (procurement training program).

Heading 2 teams for travel and events. Integration of both teams into procurement function and expanding the focus to global category management for sourcing of travel services.
Strategic procurement of disposables which are key parts of diagnostic primer packaging. Key focus was Supplier Relationship Management to ensure proper risk management and scale up of production.
