That's why I felt so much pleasure and joy when I worked for worldwide leading biomedical, pharmaceutical and microtechnology companies and many years in research and development of complex analytical and biomedical microsystems, technologies at the cutting edge, processes, equipment, biochips or lab-on-chips (devices and disposables) for point-of care (PoC), critical care, laboratory automation and analytical applications. I am accompanying as a R&D Manager with increasing responsibilities and with great interest in high tech product developments. I consider myself an entrepreneur with the ability to inspire others and accept challenging tasks to improve the global healthcare and help people. As a R&D Manager with increasing responsibilities my main tasks center around development projects which combine microsystem, microfluidic, micromolding, assay development, chemistry and biochemistry process, plastic surface modification and functionalization, assembly process, sensor, equipment and instrument properties. My numerous patents and innovations speak for my ability to work creatively, systematically and precisely. My greatest pleasure comes from working directly with customers, collaboration partners and universities to find unique solutions to complex problems. I consider myself to be a team player. As a R&D Manager, I endeavor to propagate the symbiotic benefit of a group of professionals who collaboratively work together to reach a unified goal. Nothing pleases me more than seeing a job done well. I draw a certain pride from knowing that all the tasks assigned to me come to fruition. My ability to organize and arrange complex planning issues results in timely and thorough product development.
betaSENSE GmbH was founded by Prof. Dr. Gerwert as a spin-off (Ruhr-Universität Bochum, PRODI) with the entry of Podesta GmbH, a company of the Hector Group in 2021. betaSENSE GmbH paved the way for early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or ALS. A team of around 50 employees is working on the market readiness of the immuno-infrared platform technology and on products (devices and biochips).
The AESKU.Group in Wendelsheim includes: AESKU.Diagnostics (diagnosis of autoimmune and infectious diseases with BLOT, ELISA and IFA tests), AESKU.Therapy (autoimmune therapies), AESKU.Systems (equipment, consumables and accessories for laboratory automation), AESKU.Kipp-Institute (non-profit organization for international research cooperations). The subsidiaries DST (in-vitro allergy and intolerance testing) locate in Schwerin and AESKU.Bion (IFA products for the diagnosis of autoimmune and infectious diseases) locate in Des Plaines, IL, USA are also part of the privately held group of companies. Through the networking of technical and scientific competencies, current research is promptly translated into new diagnostic and therapeutic applications and products. Products are sold worldwide through sales, marketing and international distributors. Most of the approx. 300 employees work in Wendelsheim.
Medica is committed to develop and manufacture easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain and highly reliable blood testing analyzers in small to medium-size in vitro diagnostic laboratories worldwide. ● Managed complex diagnostic system development of Medica’s Haematology R&D program. ● Supervised engineers, scientists, lab technicians and graduated students. ● Accomplished appropriate diagnostic system concepts. ● Managed and coordinated all communications with contract manufactures and consultants.
Instrumentation Laboratory is focused on the development and manufacture of medical diagnostic equipment that measures blood gases, electrolytes, metabolic, coagulation and the haemostatic abilities and characteristics of blood. ● Managed IL’s R&D Microfluidic Team and Lab (staffing, workflow, technologies, equipment, managing capital and expense budgets). ● Procured and maintained appropriate equipment, engineering and laboratory tools. ● Developed and built complex microfluidic platforms, fixtures, fluidic calculation and dynamic models for trouble shootings, investigations, characterizations, verifications, functionality and reliability tests in order to achieve systematic and verifiable development approaches. ● Supported ongoing R&D programs, schedules and milestones: GEM 4000 (System improvements), GEM 5000 (System development), GEM Immuno (Technology transfer) and ACL Cuvette (CAPA, Improvement).
