In 1979 and 1980 I did an internship at Nedlloyd en Cornelis Vrolijk. In 1981 I started at the company Wijsmuller in IJmuiden as head of mechanical engineering (HWTK). In 2001 this company was acquired by Svitzer where I continued to work in the same position until 2004. In 2002 I was seconded for a short period to the company Iskes & Towages to supervise the construction of the tugboat Thetis In 2007 I joined Iskes as technical manager shipbuilding. In 2021 Iskes was acquired by Boluda Offshore where I remained as technical manager. In addition to this role, I became office manager for the location IJmuiden. In 2022 I worked as HWTK at Dredging company de Boer.
