Dirk Fischer is a music producer and recording engineer with more than 26 years of international experience in professional classical music production. His work focuses on the artistic, technical and organizational leadership of complex recording projects for labels, ensembles, and institutional partners. Dirk started out as a composer of electronic music, developing a refined sensitivity to sound and acoustics that continues to shape his precise and analytical approach to recording. Extended professional residencies took him to Southeast Asia, China, and Russia, where he also lived for several years, building long-term collaborations with orchestras, production partners, and cultural institutions. In addition to artistic supervision, he regularly assumes responsibility for project planning, technical direction, team coordination, and on-time delivery under demanding production conditions. In 2014, in Berlin, he founded the classical label Solaire Records and the project management company EvenFlow. His productions are released internationally and have received multiple distinctions, including the German Record Critics’ Award (Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik), Opus Klassik, and the Europe Media Award. Clients and funding partners value his structured approach, reliability in budgeting and scheduling, and his ability to deliver high-quality productions that meet both artistic expectations and international commercial standards.

Solaire is run by the "Fischer Brothers", Dirk and Tobias, as well as a team of experts with decades of combined experience. Importantly, it is being shaped by our travels, insights from colleagues, friends and artists - and feedback from you, the listener.
das freie orchester Berlin is the latest addition to Berlin’s long tradition of remarkable orchestras. Composed in equal parts of upcoming and established instrumentalists, the ensemble has set its sight on performing and recording the works of modern composers without ideological bias or stylistic borders. The word ‘frei’ (‘free’) in its name refers to a core value of the orchestra: Its independence from state subsidies and commercial sponsoring. This allows it to set its agenda in close connection with artists and focus exclusively on the quality of the music. Originally founded by producer Dirk Fischer as the in-house ensemble of his label imprint Solaire, das freie orchester Berlin is also available for highly specific project suggestions, from studio recordings to movie soundtracks.
