Extensive experience in observational research study design and implementation. Support global marketing, epidemiology, clinical and health outcomes teams in strategic market planning, disease understanding, unmet needs and disease impact on healthcare resources as well as patient burden in order to facilitate access to the market and optimise medical interventions both globally and locally. • Client-facing role, with a primary focus on project delivery and business development. • Support global marketing, clinical and health outcomes teams in strategic market planning, disease understanding, unmet needs and disease impact on healthcare resources as well as patient burden in order to facilitate access to the market and optimise medical interventions both globally and locally. • Extensive experience in designing and implementing large, international, multi-centre, observational studies on behalf of clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, including: - cost of illness/burden of illness studies - utility studies - post marketing observational studies - prevalence and disease understanding studies - health-related quality of life (HRQoL) studies - database analyses • Strong logistical knowledge of observational study set-up including study protocol and questionnaire development, physician recruitment, key opinion leader management, ethical/regulatory submissions, adverse event reporting, contracting, site management and data collection methodologies. • Management of multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, to successfully deliver client projects to strict timelines and budgets (>£1.5 million). • Experience in writing clear, concise study proposals, which meet client objectives. • Considerable experience in a number of disease areas, especially hepatitis C, Crohn’s disease, HIV and asthma. • The knowledge gained allowed me to develop the companies’ first ‘real-world’ disease specific programme in hepatitis C, which is being utilised successfully by our clients. • Continually strive to improve operating processes within the company, assisting in the development of new standard operating procedures as well as conducting internal and external audits (i.e. service providers) and assisting with any client audits the company might undergo.
Group graduate scheme involving a four month placement within each of the main Adelphi companies including: • Adelphi Communications: passed an in-house medical writing exam allowing me to gain experience in developing and editing a variety of writing projects (abstracts, slide presentations and manuscripts) for a number of major pharmaceutical companies. • Mapi Values: gained a thorough understanding of patient reported outcomes and the assessment of HRQoL, which involved aiding in the development of a HRQoL questionnaire for a major pharmaceutical company. • Adelphi International Research: experience and understanding were gained in both qualitative and quantitative market research techniques within the healthcare industry. This included face-to-face interviews with both patients and physicians, analyses of responses and subsequent report development, detailing key findings to the client.
