I am a chemical engineer, currently working as a process improvement engineer at Plane Creek Mill.
Undertook a three week research and testing oriented project at ArcelorMittal South Africa to investigate the performance of the paint curing ovens used in the manufacture of steel roofing. I was responsible for researching the mechanisms behind adhesion to better understand how paint is cured and the effect of temperature on the longevity of paint. I was also tasked with selecting and testing various samples to determine whether the paint line was operating properly. I concluded my internship by submitting my report to my supervisor, who in turn advised me on how to further improve my reporting skills
Undertook a three week project at to assist in the upgrade of the quenching process required for the manufacture of hardened steel plates. My responsibilities included data analysis to find trends in the cooling procedure and its effect on plate warping. During my time I participated in numerous safety meetings and inspections to broaden my understanding of floor safety and communication.
