South Africa
My great passion in life is agriculture as well as people and I get to work with in my professional career. I was raised on a commercial farm and continued my tertiary education and career in the field of agriculture. I obtained a degree in Agronomy and Plant Pathology at the University of Stellenbosch, and later on a Masters degree at the same institution. However, the real learning only started when I started working. I worked as a on-farm agronomist for Glen Peter farm, did research for the Small grain Institute of South Africa and I was a Technical Advisor for Villa Crop Protection's marketing department. I prefer to have a positive outlook on life and see problems as opportunities to learn and grow.
Marketing Villa’s small grain and potato agricultural chemical products. Advising on effective use of agricultural chemicals (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and adjuvants) to achieve maximum profitability. Acquiring current and new industry information (new research, new products & new practices) and distributing it to the relevant field agent and producers.
Compiling research proposals for new projects as requested by local producers. Aiding and assisting in current ongoing research projects in small grains and tea. Area and crop specific research in weed control: wheat and barley.
