I build things that don't need me once they're done. Teams, processes, applications – the test is always the same: does it hold up when I leave the room? For about 25 years I've worked inside grown process landscapes in international enterprises. My method behind it: for every step, ask what it's actually for. Check whether it gets there. Change it or cut it if it doesn't. Nowhere does that show more clearly than in transitions: the moment a new service has to hold up in operations and the project team walks away. At an international enterprise I built the framework for exactly that, and it became its global standard. I led 80+ transitions myself, and the methodology carried 1,000+ more worldwide. Today I work in agentic engineering: systems where AI agents take on work independently, and the governance they need to do it. 30+ projects with Claude Code, including two open-source frameworks for governing and coordinating AI agents. Real systems I use myself, not tutorials. What I've learned: agents deliver when what surrounds them is right – traceability, reliability, critical thinking, deep analytical skills and clear creative direction. Exactly what any new service in an enterprise needs to last. That doesn't come from reading about it.
