Previously spent 4 years at Alexa Smart Home, where I grew a team from 4 to 20+ engineers and shipped software deployed on 200M+ Echo devices, controlling 500M+ endpoints. Before Amazon, at Accenture, I was one of three founding engineers on a Fortune 10s connected vehicle IoT platform. Over 7 years, I scaled from individual contributor to Senior Engineering Manager leading a 44-person global org across 3 countries. I lead engineering for local/edge Smart Home for Alexa. - My team owns Alexa Smarthome-hub capabilities across all echo devices (25+). Discovery, control and state for 10+ local protocols (standards such as matter, zigbee, thread etc. and custom protocols over wi-fi and BLE) for 100 million+ endpoints. - We also support mission critical features such as FFS (magic setup), OTA (over the air update), casting etc. - We also provide on-device infrastructure for domains such as Gadgets, Sensors, Alexa Guard etc. - Our software also runs Firetv and Eero devices. - We also own components which enable local (w/o cloud) voice, touch and state modalities providing ultra-low latency and reliability experiences for hero features.
