In the clouds I found out how much I enjoy helping others. Since highschool I always aimed to getting my pilot license and become an airline pilot, travel around the world and have the lifestyle that is seen in movies for most of them (without the personal problems depicted in most films). I did manage to get my CPL including my multi engine rating and, on my Mexican license, I had also the instrument rating, something that I didn't manage to get on my Canadian one. Not something that currently takes my sleep away, because I did manage to work in one of the biggest airlines in the world (Emirates) and travel to every continent I had thought I would during highschool; not as a pilot, but as a cabin crew. Maybe not the same lifestyle, but wasn't that much different either. Had the chance to work with people from literally all over the world, every culture, sexual preference and age, met them all and that really helped me understand what true diversity means, taught me patience and to learn that one word can make one person's day...or bring it down, depending on the culture or how they were brought up. Started working in the economy cabin and during the 10+ years I worked there I managed to move up to business and first class cabins, being this last one where I stayed the longest and learnt the most, specially in premium customers service, even though I'm the end I pursued the move to a cabin supervisor position; and I did manage to work as one plenty of times when I was pulled out to fill out that missing position, or when I'd be left in charge while the supervisor was on break. Working as a cabin crew after having worked in call centers, got me to realize how much I actually enjoy helping others and teaching others how to do the same when being on an acting supervisor position. I know that all the experience I acquired, is definitely an asset for many positions and companies looking for someone to help their teams thrive to deliver premium service experiences to high valued customers.
